Founded more than half a century ago, CASARONE is one of the companies of the rice sector that has the longest professional record in the region and the first vertically integrated company. It is the owner of 20,000 hectares of field where 30% of the raw material industrialized is produced. Each year it also receives the harvests delivered by an important group of producers of vast experience. Casarone is among the largest rice exporters in Uruguay, placing more than 100,000 tons a year of finished product and subproducts on the international market. In a supplementary manner, it grows other grains and develops cattle activities managing a herd of 10,000 heads of beef cattle with a production pattern of breeding, rearing, wintering and fattening in pens. On the other hand, Casarone has shareholding in other companies related to the business and that support its activity as Arrozur, Galofer and Corrales.
