Located in Santos Lugares - Canelones, the most important wine region from our country Antigua Bodega Stagnari is a traditional family winery from Uruguay, since 1928. Virginia Stagnari Director , his children Mariana and Carlo Young talents alongside Laura Casella professional recognized for his career in the wine world , shape the current face of this winery and style of their wines. The vineyards are based in Santos Lugares , La Paz, where the soil is very special, the vineyards are surrounded by stone quarries, there the sandy clay soil is only one metre deep and geologically the bedrock below consists of pink granite which is 500 to 600 million years old. This kind of pink granite exists only in this region. The Tannat and Merlot wines from Antigua Bodega are the result of Terroir concept: " inspiration of young talent , bedrock of pink granite, weather with great thermal amplitude & luminosity "
