Estela
AI engineering and IT in Montevideo: document pipelines, AI agents, custom software and private AI infrastructure with self-hosted models.
ABOUT US
Estela started as an infrastructure practice in Montevideo: for nearly a decade we kept systems running for businesses that couldn't afford for them to stop. Today we design, build and run AI systems in production: pipelines that read, classify and route documents, with a human signing off; AI agents connected to your existing systems; custom software built with AI-assisted engineering; and private AI infrastructure (NVIDIA GPUs, self-hosted open-weight models, VMware vSphere or Proxmox) for data that can't leave the building. We also offer consulting on AI strategy and model selection, and security for AI workloads. We are small on purpose: no account executives, you talk to the engineers doing the work. We run our own GPU server, so we recommend what we operate. We work in Spanish and English.

FEATURED PROJECT
Silvio: Uruguayan law inside Claude and ChatGPT
An MCP server that searches statutes, Parliament and case law on our own hardware, and a firm's private documents under its own permissions. Every correction a lawyer makes becomes a test, and every citation is checked against its source. It gets better each week without the documents leaving the firm. silvio.legal
FEATURED PROJECT
Fullcat: stock, point-of-sale and e-invoicing system
We took over a legacy stock, point-of-sale and e-invoicing system (Uruguayan CFE with DGI) for a parts distributor and modernized it screen by screen: a new interface, a replicated database, and a production cutover with one-command rollback. The shop never stopped invoicing.
FEATURED PROJECT
Oriental Films: post-production between Montevideo and Mexico
For a production company with offices in Montevideo and Mexico, we are rolling out our own video review platform in place of Frame.io, remote editing over shared storage in place of LucidLink, and the connectivity between both offices. Also a WhatsApp Business bot that routes each contact to the right department by business hours.
