FEATURED PROJECT
CAF Southern Region Headquarters

The CAF Southern Region Headquarters is an urban-scale project and a high-impact building transformation in Montevideo’s Historic District. The project is based on the rehabilitation of the former Central Market to house CAF’s regional offices, the Cinemateca Uruguaya cinema complex, the Fun-Fun Bar, and a large public parking facility. The intervention revitalizes a strategic area of the city through architecture that combines contemporary language with respect for the pre-existing structure. The project successfully resolves the convergence of diverse uses (corporate, cultural, and commercial) within a single architectural complex. The complex integrates harmoniously with the immediate urban scale by generating transition spaces and establishing a strong relationship with the ground floor.

FEATURED PROJECT
Manzione Building

The Manzione Building is an exponent of contemporary residential architecture that stands out for its formal synthesis and material rigor. Located in a strategic site, the project efficiently resolves a social housing program, prioritizing the relationship between interior space and the urban environment while respecting the heritage character of the existing building. The design features a rhythmic and tectonic facade that preserves original materials to ensure appropriate aging and low maintenance. The transformation from an office building to residential use involved optimizing floor plans to maximize natural light and unobstructed views. The repurposing of this building improved the immediate urban surroundings and presents an alternative land-use strategy for buildings that are currently disused in our cities.

FEATURED PROJECT
Ciudad del Plata Civic Center

The Ciudad del Plata Civic Center stands as a key piece of public infrastructure designed to centralize services and promote social development in a high-growth demographic area. The project is organized around a clear and functional architecture that facilitates universal accessibility and administrative efficiency, integrating various government agencies into a single, cohesive complex. The architectural proposal prioritizes the creation of spacious, bright areas that enhance the citizen service experience, using an honest and low-maintenance material language that ensures the building's durability under intensive use. Beyond its administrative program, the building acts as an urban catalyst that upgrades its immediate surroundings, offering community spaces that strengthen social ties. Its design successfully balances institutional representation with a human scale that is both approachable and welcoming.
