Competitive advantages in the production of timber in Uruguay:
- Geographic location: Uruguay is located in the same latitude as the main forest enterprises of the southern hemisphere with climate and soil conditions that ensure very good levels of competitiveness at an international level.
- Wood supply: it has a large volume of forest resources and pine timber supply.
- Logistics infrastructure: the country has a vast and dense road network that connects the main production centers with the stockyards and main ports of the country. Eight out of 15 of its ports, are commercial and are located in different areas of the country. Recently it has inaugurated a new terminal for forest products and solid bulks located in the port of Montevideo
