ICT in Uruguay 2026
Uruguay’s ICT sector generated US$3.681 billion in revenue in 2024—equivalent to 4.5% of GDP—and exports accounted for 63% of sales, with the United States as the main destination. Uruguay is Latin America’s second-largest software exporter per capita. This report provides data on companies, employment, talent, infrastructure and investment.

Uruguay’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is one of the main drivers of the country’s international integration. With an early start and a strong export orientation, the sector has positioned Uruguay as Latin America’s second-largest software exporter per capita and the largest in South America.
According to the latest survey by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI), the sector generated US$3.681 billion in revenue in 2024, representing year-on-year growth of 9% and the equivalent of 4.5% of GDP. International sales reached US$2.323 billion and accounted for 63% of total revenue, with the United States as the leading destination. In addition, 76% of companies reported sales to international clients.
