The IDA program, aimed at foreign publishers who wish to publish Uruguayan works in a language other than Spanish and at national publishers and authors seeking to promote work or produce an audiobook, closed its fourth edition and supported the internationalization of 17 new Uruguayan literary works.

This edition facilitated the translation of 15 works into different languages: five were translated into Italian, three into English, two into Portuguese, one into Albanian, one into Slovenian, one into Swedish, one into Danish, and one into Greek. In addition, two audiobooks were produced in Spanish.

The National Directorate of Culture and Uruguay XXI, the investment, export, and country brand promotion agency, coordinate this initiative, which aims to promote the export of Uruguayan literature by supporting the translation, promotion, and dissemination of nationally authored works.

The program was born in 2019 and, since then, allowed the promotion of more than 50 Uruguayan authors and translated 38 national works into ten languages. In addition, it supported nine translations into English of excerpts from literary works for their international promotion and the production of six audiobooks.
