22 uruguayan companies seek to expand their business in Paraguay

Graphic design, toys, architecture, cheeses and organization of events are some of the varied sectors of Uruguayan companies that participated in the trade visit to Paraguay, from March 13 to 15, in order to expand their presence in this market and specify new business. The activity was organized by Uruguay XXI and the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU) with the support of the Embassy of Uruguay in Paraguay.

Graphic design, toys, architecture, cheeses and organization of events are some of the varied sectors of Uruguayan companies that participated in the trade visit to Paraguay, from March 13 to 15, in order to expand their presence in this market and specify new business. The activity was organized by Uruguay XXI and the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU) with the support of the Embassy of Uruguay in Paraguay.

In the multisectorial visit, 14 services and 8 goods companies participated, from the software areas (Make Software SRL, DATALAB, Descartes, Todosoft, MDS), engineering (Ingenium), food (Natural Kick, Naturalia, Lurberri), consulting ( CommunicareConsulting), agrochemicals (Allchem), natural cosmetics (GlocalChemical) and biotechnology (AravanLabs).

Also participating were companies in the design and communication sector (Círculo Salvo, Polder Comunicación), toys (Rivernold), water tanks (Rotomodelos), dairy sector services (Portal Lechero), architecture (UNA Brand Spaces), construction (Sandonato, Salomón) and organization of events (Chabot).

During the three days of the commercial visit, the companies held meetings previously scheduled with their counterparts. In addition, on March 13, a reception was held at the residence of the Ambassador of Uruguay in Paraguay, Federico Perazza, in which Uruguayan businessmen and potential buyers participated. On that day there was also a welcome event for the Uruguayan delegation organized by the Paraguayan - Uruguayan Chamber.

After this visit, the company Naturalia reached an agreement for the representation and distribution of its Premium cheeses. At the same time, it was possible to awaken a firm interest in some of the most important supermarket chains in Paraguay,

which will be incorporating Granja Naturalia cheeses, once they enter that country, according to the company.

"The trade between both countries is significant, in 2017 Paraguay was positioned as the 11th destination of Uruguay's exports," said Ambassador of Uruguay in Paraguay Federico Perazza. In turn, he said that Uruguayan companies see it as a gateway to the internationalization of their businesses.

Uruguay XXI together with the CIU organize this activity since 2014. In total, more than 90 companies have already participated. The companies that participated in 2017 made sales for a total of USD 21,500, six months after the visit according to data provided by participating companies.
