From February 26 to 28, 13 Uruguayan companies (10 of services and 3 of goods) participated in a trade mission to Miami organized by Uruguay XXI with the support of the Consulate of Uruguay in Miami.

The companies that participated in the commercial visit belong to the ICT sectors (ArkanoGenexus, 1950 Labs, Software Testing Bureau, Qualit, Qualitas), graphic design (Studio 4D, Ameba), architecture (Mikadoo), engineering (Turcatti Structural Engineering), vitivinícola (Viña Edén, Hacienda del Sacramento) and food (Coffee Teachers).

The companies had several B2B meetings previously coordinated with importers and potential business partners. In turn, representatives of Uruguay XXI deepened contacts with local authorities, chambers of commerce and the academy.

n the framework of the commercial visit, on February 26 a breakfast was held with the participating companies, organized by Uruguay XXI and the Consulate of Uruguay in Miami. The welcoming words were shared by the Mayor of the city of Miami, Francis Suarez, the President of the Hemispheric Congress Willy Gort, the Executive Director of Uruguay XXI Antonio Carámbula, the Consul General of Uruguay in Miami, Lourdes Boné and the President of the Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce Cecilia Garicoits.

On February 27, a breakfast was organized by the Uruguayan American Chamber of Commerce in which Uruguayan companies participated. In turn, Antonio Carámbula presented the advantages to invest and do business with Uruguay in an event organized by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

"The United States is an important market with great development potential, so it is essential to carry out these instances, which increase the country presence and deepen the knowledge of US companies on the quality of Uruguayan exportable supply in a world of consumers. more and more demanding ", said the Consul of Uruguay in Miami Lourdes Boné about the commercial visit.

Between January and November of 2017, Uruguay exported goods to the United States through Miami for US $ 68,655,843. The country is also an important destination for Uruguayan services exports. Specifically in the software and ICT services sector, 58.1% are directed to this destination, according to the latest survey conducted by the Uruguayan Chamber of Information Technology (CUTI).

As part of the preparatory activities for the mission, on January 29 the workshop "How to do business with the United States / Miami?" Was conducted by José Luis Barletta, president of BarnewsResearchGroup and advisor to several local and international organizations.
