Chocolates Haas received the Marca País Uruguay certification, a distinction that recognizes companies that meet management indicators related to leadership, sustainability, origin, and export activity. The award ceremony brought together representatives from Uruguay XXI and LSQA along with company officials.

Marca País Manager Larissa Perdomo highlighted the company’s swift adoption of the process and the symbolic value of one of its most recognizable products. “From our very first conversation, they placed their trust in us and in our vision of creating an iconic product—one that is fully identified with the country, deeply rooted in the local community, and with great export potential,” she noted, referring to the emblematic Ricardito.

Perdomo also emphasized the added value and quality standards of their local production. “Although Uruguay is not a cocoa-producing country, they adhere to all quality processes in chocolate production and value-added manufacturing, creating products that we fully recommend for export,” she stated. She added that “every company that exports is a company that endures, that grows, and that holds a bright future for Uruguay.”

On behalf of LSQA, its CEO, Santiago Vázquez, presented the certificate and explained the scope of the evaluation. “Chocolates Haas has demonstrated compliance with the management indicators associated with the Uruguay Country Brand model,” he said.

For his part, Gerardo Lapetina, director of Haas, expressed his gratitude for the recognition granted as part of the work of Uruguay XXI, Marca País, and LSQA. “It is an honor for us to receive and hold this distinction,” he affirmed.

Looking ahead to the company’s international expansion, Lapetina noted that one of the goals of this new phase is to bring Ricardito and Haas chocolates to new markets, strengthening the Uruguayan brand’s presence abroad.

Licensing thus reinforces Haas’s association with Uruguay and supports its export potential, combining products with strong local roots with quality processes and a strategy aimed at expanding its presence outside the country.

The Uruguay Country Brand, managed by Uruguay XXI, is the international positioning strategy that seeks to highlight the attributes that distinguish the country. Through its licensing program, companies and organizations can use the “Marca País” logo on their products, services, and communications. Currently, the community includes more than 250 certified companies, which form a network aimed at strengthening the recognition and reputation of Uruguayan products and services in international markets.
