First meeting RedIbero 2017

On March 13 and 14, the first 2017 meeting of the Ibero-American Network of Organizations for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (RedIbero) was held in San Jose, Costa Rica, which is chaired by Uruguay. The event took place in the framework of the "Outsource2LAC", considered the main forum for outsourcing (subcontracting) and offshoring (offshoring of companies) of the continent, organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The central theme was the facilitation of trade in services. Representatives from 15 countries of the region participated, as well as private sector services.

The executive director of Uruguay XXI, Antonio Carámbula, presented Uruguay as a destination for the commercialization of non-traditional services, as well as aftercare programs for investors. Uruguay, in terms of export of global services, has 2,000 installed companies that cover some 20,000 employees and export for figures close to 2,800 million dollars per year.

On the other hand, the international events that will take place in Uruguay this year were presented, such as the First European Investment Forum in Uruguay in June and China-LAC in November.

During the event Outsource2LAC, Uruguay XXI also participated with a country stand and a delegation of more than 15 businessmen, who met with potential investors. The instance had more than 3,000 business appointments of different types and involved more than 600 companies in the global services sector, ICT, outsourcing and offshoring,
