Registrations are now open to participate in the second edition of the cross-border e-commerce program organized by Uruguay XXI, which offers Uruguayan companies the opportunity to access advice and personalized follow-up to sell their products in global marketplaces.

This is a 10-month program, which, together with the international consulting firm LAP Marketplaces - an expert in sales through global marketplaces - aims to generate the capacity to export to the United States through these e-commerce platforms.

The call is open to companies from different sectors, which will be free to participate in the first month of training. Then, based on their performance and compliance with the criteria established by the program (see requirements here), eight participants will be selected to work with LAP Marketplace for nine months. These companies will receive individual advice and follow-up to prepare them to sell on Amazon USA from Uruguay.

Throughout this time they will be guided on how to comply with regulations and packaging requirements to export to the United States, how to register their profiles and products in the marketplace, how to optimize the shipment of inventories and how to increase sales through digital marketing on these platforms.

To participate in this new edition, companies can apply until Monday, September 6, 2023 here.

In the last edition, the program worked side by side with a number of companies from different industries, which are currently at different stages of development of their exports and who took advantage of the knowledge provided by the consulting firm LAP Marketplace.

Andrea Herrera, founder of Quiral, an enterprise whose star product is solid shampoo, said: "It caught me at the right time to jump into the water and try the experience of exporting and selling through Amazon. If it hadn't been for this help, it would have taken me more time to analyze and load the products with all the regulations that this entails. With the program everything is shortened," he said of his experience.

"I am selling in a way that was unthinkable for me," he added. He now plans to continue targeting the United States as his main market, although he also plans to open an account in Amazon Canada.

Deep Purple Project, a venture that sells amethyst stones online, also benefited from the program. Although the brand was already selling on Amazon at the time the program began, the consultancy helped identify new business opportunities they had not considered, according to Jessica Stuani, the brand's director. They valued very positively the help they received with the design of promotional materials, the online workshops and the knowledge the program gave them to open another Walmart account.

Agustina Boni, director of Linda Wall -a brand that sells handmade vinyls for walls-, highlighted from her experience the importance of having help with the onboarding of the products on the website. "They ask for very special photos and the rules are rigid," she specified.

The Uruguayan skin care cosmetics brand Cryosmetics is another success story that benefited from the cross-border e-commerce program and today sells its products through Amazon: "The program has been a great help in opening this new point of sale. I think it is a great initiative that promotes Uruguayan companies and helps the country to grow," explained founder Vanesa Piattoni.
