Cooperation: Uruguay XXI transfers experience to Agencies of West Africa

In his capacity as president of the Ibero-American Network of Trade Promotion Agencies (Redibero), Uruguay XXI was invited by the International Trade Center as an observer and advisor for the creation of the Regional Network of Trade Promotion Organizations of the Economic Union and Monetaria del Oeste de África (UEMOA).

Between May 17 and 19, in the city of Dakar, the capital of Senegal, the launching of the Regional Network of Trade Promotion Organizations of the Economic and Monetary Union of West Africa was held, in which representatives of Promotion Agencies of Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Benin, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo.

Uruguay XXI, as the agency that presides over the Redibero, and ATPF (Jetro) of the Asia Pacific Agency network, were the special guests and were represented by Larissa Perdomo, manager of Country Brand, and Ikuru Nogami, responsible for cooperation with Asia, respectively.

During the meeting, interest was transferred from the countries of the Redibero, which made contributions for the meeting, such as Mexico and its interests with Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria. An invitation was also sent for the week of Africa in Mexico and also to participate in the Cancun forum in the same country.

The countries showed interest in linking with Redibero in the areas of sustainability, traceability, fruit exports and packing, in the development of sectoral brands, and work in three areas, research, technology transfer, training and commercial exchange.

In this way, a process of exchange and cooperation between the networks of the regional blocks of the West of Áfirca, Asia-Pacific and Latin America and the Caribbean was initiated
