Zonamerica received a license from Marca País Uruguay

Marca País Uruguay awarded its certification to Zonamerica, a distinction that recognizes companies that meet management indicators related to leadership, sustainability, origin, and export capacity.
Attending the ceremony were Mariana Ferreira, executive director of Uruguay XXI; Santiago Vázquez, CEO of LSQA; Andrea Volonté, commercial director of LSQA; Larissa Perdomo, manager of Marca País; and Germán Amorín, head of licensing for Marca País. Representing Zonamerica were its CEO, Martín Dovat, and its commercial manager, Magdalena Rodríguez.
The licensing is the result of an evaluation process conducted by Uruguay XXI in collaboration with LSQA. Obtaining this license allows the company to incorporate the logo into its communications and reinforce its association with the country in the eyes of clients, investors, and business partners.
In the case of Zonamerica, the award also highlights the contribution of this free trade zone to Uruguay’s development. Attracting investment, creating jobs, and exporting goods and services are all part of the contribution made by a sector that connects the country to international markets and provides a platform for companies to expand their operations.
Ferreira linked the recognition to the pillars that underpin the Country Brand: origin, leadership and management, sustainability, and an export-oriented focus. “Here at Zonamerica, there are more than 7,000 people working, more than 500 companies, and more than 15 sectors that showcase Uruguay’s origins and demonstrate how Uruguay is a stable and reliable platform for providing these types of services,” she stated.
The executive director highlighted the collaboration among companies, investors, universities, students, and talent in an environment driven by innovation. She also emphasized the role of licensing in the country’s international outreach. “Through all the companies operating in Zonamerica and all their employees, we can promote the Uruguay brand,” she noted. In this regard, she described the free trade zone as a platform for promotion and its companies and workers as brand ambassadors.
For his part, Dovat highlighted the joint effort with Uruguay XXI to position the country. “This is how we travel the world with Uruguay XXI, promoting Uruguay as a business hub. In a way, this motivates us; it shows us that this is the right path and that there is much more to come,” he said.
In closing, the Country Brand manager highlighted Zonamerica’s leadership during the licensing process. “They certainly deserve to carry the Uruguay brand,” she said, adding that it is “an honor to be able to award this certification.”
The Uruguay Country Brand, managed by Uruguay XXI, is the international positioning strategy that seeks to highlight the attributes that set the country apart. Through its licensing program, companies and organizations can use the logo on their products, services, and communications, and become part of a community that helps strengthen the recognition and reputation of Uruguay’s offerings around the world.
