Bodega Cerro del Toro

Bodega Cerro del Toro

BCDT was founded in 2016 by the Japanese Kambara family to produce top-quality wines on the slopes of the hill of the same name (Piriápolis, Maldonado, just 2 km from the coast). 28 hectares and 13 varieties, Albariño is its flagship wine.

ABOUT US

The vineyard has been planted in 52 plots on predominantly stony soils. The vines are located 2 km from the coast and are exposed to the sea breeze, with a slope of 12 to 15% and altitudes between 60 and 128 meters above sea level.

Red varieties: Tannat, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Mencía, Caiño Tinto, Gamaret, and Petit Verdot. White varieties: Albariño (the winery's signature wine), Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Gris, and Godello.

Since 2022, Cerro del Toro has been certified as a Sustainable Viticulture operation, based on the adoption of specific management practices, considering environmental management, cultural practices, respect for people, and methods for pest and disease control.
