Uruguay Makes Its Debut at Gamescom in Germany with a Delegation of 12 Studios
The delegation will showcase video games, technology, and new IPs in search of publishers, investment, and global partners

A Uruguayan delegation of 12 studios will participate in Gamescom Germany 2026, showcasing video games, new intellectual properties, technology, and entertainment models in search of publishers, investment, financing, and strategic partners. Their presence reflects the growth of an industry that combines creative talent, technological infrastructure, and global success stories.
From August 26 to 28, Uruguay XXI, in coordination with the Uruguayan Video Game Chamber (CAVI) and the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU), with the support of the Uruguayan-German Chamber of Commerce, will accompany a delegation of national studios to Gamescom, one of the industry’s leading global gatherings.
This will mark the first time a Uruguayan delegation has participated in the German edition of Gamescom—a step that expands the growth and internationalization opportunities for a sector that already maintains a steady presence at Gamescom Latam in São Paulo and the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, two key venues for generating business and keeping pace with trends in an industry undergoing constant transformation.
The country will have a booth in the business area, designed as a platform to showcase developments taking place in Uruguay and as a space for meetings arranged by the delegation. There, publishers, investors, platforms, and international studios will meet with Uruguayan companies arriving in Germany with specific needs and proposals: ranging from titles seeking publication or funding to cloud gaming technology and new connected entertainment experiences.
“The Uruguay Video Games online platform, where we bring together our country’s video game studios and the games the sector is developing, allows us to create opportunities even for those who cannot travel and to showcase the high caliber of the local industry,” noted Omaira Rodríguez, a specialist in Creative Industries at Uruguay XXI.

The delegation arrives backed by examples of global success that demonstrate the potential of the Uruguayan industry, such as Kingdom Rush, by Ironhide Game Studio, with more than 44 million downloads, and Outlanders, by Pomelo Games, whose titles have surpassed 10 million downloads. Added to this is the track record of the Uruguayan Video Game Chamber (CAVI), which this year celebrates a decade since its founding, as another sign of the industry’s growing consolidation and maturity.
The Uruguayan delegation includes ABYA, Great Oak Games, Hipocampo Game Studio, Luminara Game Studio, Magic Wonders, Pi0h1, Pomelo Games, Rubber Duck Games, Sarnayer Studio, 70-200 Games, Mad Grove, and Studio Pathos, with offerings ranging from cloud gaming and connected entertainment to strategy games, narrative-driven titles, puzzles, and indie experiences.

ABYA will bring its expertise in cloud gaming, while Pomelo Games—one of Uruguay’s most internationally established studios—will present Outlanders 2. Also in attendance will be Great Oak Games with Angler’s Lake, Hipocampo Game Studio with Pegote, and Luminara Game Studio with Fading Luna—three projects currently in development that will be seeking opportunities for publishing, funding, and international expansion.
Rounding out the lineup are Magic Wonders, focused on experiences that combine video games, artificial intelligence, and connected entertainment; Pi0h1, with Heat Division: Rescue Team; Rubber Duck Games, with Project DTD; and Sarnayer Studio, with the RTS Dying Breed. Meanwhile, 70-200 Games will showcase Wordtris, and Studio Pathos will present The Death Night Show.
Taken together, the delegation reflects the diversity of the Uruguayan gaming ecosystem and arrives at Gamescom with the shared goal of connecting with partners and industry players capable of propelling their projects onto the global stage.
