Uruguay is strengthening its position in the global video game industry through its participation in Gamescom Latam 2026, one of the region’s leading industry events. From April 29 to May 3, in São Paulo, the country will implement an institutional and business strategy aimed at generating business opportunities and consolidating its creative and technological ecosystem.

The initiative is led by Uruguay XXI, the Uruguayan Chamber of Video Games (CAVI), and the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU), which invited local studios and developers to join the official delegation. The event will bring together publishers, investors, developers, and international leaders in a space that combines exhibitions, conferences, and an intensive schedule of business meetings.

One of the central focuses of the delegation’s participation will be the country’s booth in the business area, designed as a platform for visibility and a meeting point for Uruguayan companies. There, opportunities for networking and negotiations with potential strategic partners will be facilitated within a highly competitive and dynamic environment.

The delegation will consist of established and emerging studios, as well as professionals specializing in various areas of the industry. The Uruguay VideoGames catalog brings together this lineup and serves as a key tool for international promotion. Among the participants are projects ranging from indie titles to immersive experiences using advanced technologies.

Studios such as Ironhide Game Studio, creators of the renowned Kingdom Rush series, will present new titles, while independent teams like Hipocampo, Pixel Core Games, and 10Leaf Studio will showcase projects that combine narrative innovation, aesthetics, and gameplay mechanics. Likewise, companies such as Press Start Evolution, Magic Wonders, and Region AI are contributing solutions based on augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and “phygital” experiences, expanding the sector’s reach into new technological applications. Rounding out the delegation are studios like Totem Games, which bring proposals related to interactive narrative, social impact, and the development of content with international appeal.

The delegation also reflects the diversity of the local ecosystem, with the participation of regional platforms such as ABYA—focused on cloud gaming—and specialized professionals such as composers and sound designers, including Esteban Dal Monte and Gonzalo Varela, who add value in key areas of the production chain.

This initiative is supported by a favorable national environment for the industry’s development. Uruguay is positioning itself as a technology hub in Latin America, with skilled talent, advanced infrastructure, and policies that promote innovation and the internationalization of services.

The presence at Gamescom Latam is part of a broader strategy that will continue in August with participation in Gamescom Germany, one of the most significant events worldwide. This dual presence reinforces the goal of consolidating Uruguay as a competitive player in the global video game market.

Against a backdrop of sustained industry growth—which globally exceeds billions of dollars—the country’s initiative seeks to capitalize on opportunities in high-value-added segments where creativity, technology, and export capacity converge. In this regard, Gamescom Latam will serve as a strategic showcase to highlight Uruguay’s potential and foster new commercial agreements.
