Uruguayan companies visited Mexico along with Uruguay XXI to open new market opportunities

The commercial visit was destined to Mexico City, León and Guadalajara and 16 Uruguayan companies with export potential took part in it.

The agency for the promotion of investments, exports and country image, Uruguay XXI, organized a commercial visit to Mexico along with 16 national companies from food and beverages, electrical materials, textiles and clothing, ICTs and tourism sectors, with the objective of opening new export opportunities in that market.

The following enterprises participated in the mission: the Avanti, Saint Café, Polanco Caviar, Ururice food companies; the Giménez Méndez and Hacienda del Sacramento wineries; the manufacturer of electrical materials Industrias Elder Tavares; the Colormod, Agrotimes and Darcy-Germe textiles; the Infocasas real estate portal; the Loop Studio, Godoworks, Switch Software Solutions and Software Testing Bureau software companies and the Personal Montevideo Viajes tour operator.

This visit was coordinated together with the Chamber of Industries of Uruguay (CIU) and had the support of the Embassy of Uruguay in Mexico. It is the second consecutive mission to this market. The previous one took place in 2017 and allowed closing business deals for more than US $ 150,000, according to data provided by the companies to Uruguay XXI

Within the framework of this mission, the companies had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with potential Mexican business partners according to their profiles in Mexico City, León and Guadalajara.

In 2017, Mexico received Uruguayan exports worth almost US $ 327 million, 11.5% higher than in 2016. The items that lead the exchange with this market are primarily beverage concentrates, followed by rice, leather and its manufactures, wood and wood products and dairy products.
