Laboratorios Farmatec Uruguay
Laboratorios Farmatec Uruguay, a national leader in transplant and cardiac surgery technologies since 1998 with Custodiol®, and since 2018 developer of proprietary cannabinoid-based formulations such as CBDEX®, its approved Cannabidiol (CBD) medication, operating under GACP, GLP, GDP and GMP standards.
Laboratorios Farmatec Uruguay is a pharmaceutical biotechnology company founded in 1998, with more than 25 years of experience in the sector. Historically, the company focused on representing and importing medicines from international laboratories, including Custodiol®, manufactured in Germany by Dr. F. Köhler Chemie GmbH and used for organ preservation during transplant procedures and cardiac surgery, positioning the company as the market leader in Uruguay.
Since 2018, Laboratorios Farmatec Uruguay has undergone a strategic transformation toward research, innovation, and the development of pharmaceutical, veterinary, and cosmetic formulations based on Cannabinoids. Through a rigorous science and technology program, the company generates intellectual property and manufactures high-quality pharmaceutical products with proven safety and efficacy.
Its first Cannabinoid-based medicine, CBDEX®, is a pharmaceutical-grade Cannabidiol (CBD) formulation indicated for the treatment of seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, Dravet Syndrome, and Tuberous Sclerosis Complex in patients one year of age and older.
For all its operations — including R&D, analytical quality control, manufacturing, and commercialization — Laboratorios Farmatec Uruguay holds the corresponding authorizations from the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), and the Institute for the Regulation and Control of Cannabis (IRCCA), operating in compliance with international standards GACP, GLP, GMP and GDP.
