H. Stagnari is a winery focused on the production of premium wines, these are made with its own grapes from its two vineyards: La Puebla - Canelones (white grapes) and La Caballada - Salto (red grapes). In 1874, Pascual Harriague, a French Basque immigrant, introduced the tannat strain to Uruguay for the first time, which would become the mother variety of Uruguayan viticulture. Harriague came to cultivate about 200 hectares of Tannat in the area of «La Caballada», in «Nueva Hespérides» in Salto. This is a good part of the secret by which Vinos Finos H. Stagnari makes the most awarded tannat wine in the world.
