In an atmosphere of enthusiasm, Durazno hosted a new stop on the 2025 national tour of Más Comercio, the Uruguay XXI program that promotes the international expansion of small businesses in the interior. The event was held on Thursday, September 25, at the Durazno Commercial and Industrial Center, and brought together entrepreneurs, businesspeople, and representatives of the local ecosystem interested in learning about the first steps to exporting.

The meeting offered a practical workshop on internationalization, which addressed the main aspects to consider when opening new markets: from preparing the exportable offer to accessing strategic information and the formalization stages necessary for successful exporting. In addition, participants were able to apply for personalized mentoring, a central component of the program that allows companies to receive direct support to strengthen their management and define concrete expansion strategies.

A network that drives the interior

Más Comercio not only provides training, but also builds community: in each department, it brings together the public and private actors that form part of the local productive fabric. In Durazno, the program was supported by the Departmental Government, the Durazno Commercial and Industrial Center, the ANDE SME Centers, the Uruguayan Postal Service, the Banco República, the Uruguayan Technological Laboratory (LATU), MYPE Exporta, INEFOP, and the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining – Dinapyme.

This coordination—one of the hallmarks of Uruguay XXI—seeks to facilitate access to opportunities and services that strengthen the competitiveness of companies in the interior, especially those that are just beginning to explore international markets.

Train, connect, and grow

Since its launch in 2022, Más Comercio has traveled to every department in the country, establishing itself as a benchmark program for promoting Uruguayan exports. In its 2025 edition, it has already visited Maldonado, Canelones, San José, Artigas, and Río Negro, and continues to add stops to expand its territorial reach and bring internationalization closer to more entrepreneurs. The next stop will be in Treinta y Tres.

In Durazno, the initiative demonstrated once again that talent, innovation, and a vocation for export are present in every corner of the country. For many of those in attendance, the day marked the first step toward a new stage of growth, backed by an institutional network that promotes professionalization and openness to the world.
