Uruguay once again stands out on Latin America’s culinary map with three restaurants featured in the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 list, which this year revealed the positions from 51 to 100 ahead of its main announcement. The official release confirmed that Parador La Huella, Manzanar and Lo de Tere have earned their place in the first half of the extended ranking—an achievement that reflects the growing maturity and international projection of Uruguayan cuisine.
Three Restaurants, Three Culinary Destinations
Leading the Uruguayan trio is Parador La Huella, located in José Ignacio, which secured spot 83. Known for its seaside setting and relaxed sophistication, La Huella has been a consistent presence in previous editions of the ranking, reaffirming its status as a regional icon.

At number 86 is Manzanar, situated in Montevideo’s Carrasco neighborhood. The restaurant has emerged as a contemporary reference point in the capital, blending a modern aesthetic with a menu that reinterprets traditional regional flavors.
Completing Uruguay’s presence is Lo de Tere in Punta del Este, positioned at number 92. With more than two decades of family-run history, it is celebrated for its commitment to local seafood and for its privileged location just steps from the port of the country’s most renowned seaside resort.
A Boost for Uruguay’s National Image
The inclusion of these three establishments in the 51–100 range enhances Uruguay’s visibility as a gastronomic destination within Latin America. As one of the sector’s most respected lists, the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking contributes to strengthening the country’s culinary positioning in international markets, supporting efforts to build a national image associated with quality, authenticity and excellence in service.
The 2025 edition named El Chato, from Bogotá, Colombia, as the number-one restaurant in the region. Other highlights in the top five include Kjolle (Lima), Don Julio (Buenos Aires), Mérito (Lima) and Celele (Cartagena).
