Uruguay will take part in South Summit Brazil 2026, one of the world’s leading events for the startup and tech ecosystem, held from March 25 to 27 in Porto Alegre. The mission, organized by Uruguay XXI with support from ANII, Cubo Itaú, and CUTI, will bring together startups, tech companies, and key institutional players.

With over 23,000 attendees, 130 investment funds, and around 3,000 startups, the event stands out as a major platform for innovation, business generation, and international connections.

The Uruguayan delegation will feature tech-driven companies included in the official agenda, along with dozens of additional participants, bringing the total delegation to more than 45 members. It will also include strong representation from the north of the country, particularly Rivera, with participants from the local government, UTEC, Sistema B, and regional companies. This highlights the growing strength of the tech ecosystem beyond Montevideo and increased coordination across regions.

Participating companies develop solutions in fields such as AI, software, cybersecurity, biotechnology, and digital platforms, reflecting the breadth and maturity of Uruguay’s tech sector.

Uruguay will position itself as a regional hub for business and innovation, with more than 500 exporting tech companies and a solid presence in Latin America.

Four Uruguayan startups —Kinzbio, Xeptiva, Brokerware, and UBI Meat— will also compete in the pitch competition, gaining exposure to international investors.

In the previous edition, Nanogrow and Tecspal reached the final stage among more than 2,000 applicants, with Nanogrow recognized as the most disruptive startup.

Beyond the main event, the delegation will take part in parallel activities organized with ANII and networking initiatives such as brunches hosted by Instituto Caldeira.

Through this mission, Uruguay seeks to deepen its global integration, showcase its talent, and unlock new business and investment opportunities.
