Punta del Este once again became a meeting point for the international wine community with the 23rd edition of the Enjoy Punta del Este Wine Fair. Within this framework, Marca País Uruguay was present alongside the Uruguay Wine sector brand and the Enjoy Punta del Este hotel—licensee of the country brand with LSQA certification—at an event that has consolidated its position as one of the leading wine promotion platforms in the region.

Uruguay Wine’s participation forms part of the strategy led by the National Institute of Viticulture (INAVI) to strengthen the brand’s international positioning. On this occasion, the Wine Fair served as a key showcase to introduce the identity of Uruguayan wine to a predominantly tourist audience, generating brand recognition and added value within a setting defined by high gastronomic and cultural standards.

According to data provided by Enjoy Punta del Este, the event attracted a total of 3,500 attendees over the two days and involved approximately 500 professionals in its organization and operation. In all, 140 national and international wineries took part, presenting more than 600 wine labels.

The Uruguay Wine stand featured a carefully curated selection of national wineries, including Toscanini, Bracco Bosca, Familia Dardanelli, Finca Las Violetas, H. Stagnari, Vivi Priamus, Vinos ZE, Mori Maglio, Uvas del Sánchez, Orihuela, Marichal, Vermut Flores, Santa Rosa, Cerro de Oro, Héctor Peluffo, Viña Edén, Cofradía de las Sierras, and Alto de la Ballena. As it does every year, INAVI accompanied Uruguayan wineries at an event that continues to grow and strengthen with each edition.

“This confirms that the event has become a classic and one of the most sought-after on the calendar,” said Javier Azcurra, Director of Institutional Relations and Sales at Enjoy Punta del Este.

INAVI President Diego Spinoglio highlighted the strategic partnership with the Punta del Este resort. “We are talking about one of the most important wine events in the region for the end consumer. We are committed—and will continue to be committed—to this strategic partner, Enjoy Punta del Este,” he said. In an interview with El País, Spinoglio also noted that the main objective for this year is to further position the Uruguay Wine brand internationally and to grow the sector’s economic activity by between 40% and 50%.

Along the same lines, Deputy Minister of Tourism Ana Claudia Caram emphasized the event’s trajectory and the evolution of the sector. “More than two decades of hosting an international wine fair is something worth highlighting. Wine tourism has become a fundamental experience and has undergone a strong process of professionalization,” she said.

Throughout the event, winemakers, sommeliers, and producers engaged directly with the public, sharing insights into wine profiles, production processes, and industry trends. Visitors were invited to discover the identity of Uruguayan wine, with Tannat as the emblematic grape of national viticulture—internationally recognized for its intensity, structure, and elegance—alongside Albariño, a variety that is gaining increasing prominence among Uruguay’s white wines. Guests also had the opportunity to taste a wide range of red, white, and sparkling wines, reflecting the diversity and quality of local production.

Uruguay is now firmly positioned as a consolidated player on the global wine map, supported by distinctive attributes such as its calcareous soils, strong Atlantic influence, and a winemaking tradition that combines family heritage with technological innovation. The country also stands out as the first in Latin America to have 100% of its wine production fully traced and georeferenced, reinforcing the sector’s reliability, transparency, and sustainability.

The entrance fee included wine tastings and a gastronomic offering specially designed for pairing. In addition to winery stands, the fair featured renowned local establishments and wine tourism experiences, further strengthening the connection between production, territory, and experience.

According to INAVI data published by El País, Uruguay produced 62,164,185 liters of wine in 2025. Red wine accounted for the largest share, followed by rosé and white wines. Canelones remained the country’s leading wine-producing region, while Brazil continued to be the main destination for bottled Uruguayan wine exports.

Against this backdrop, the presence of Uruguay Wine at the Enjoy Punta del Este Wine Fair underscores the coordinated efforts of the public and private sectors to position Uruguayan wine as a high-quality product with a strong identity and growing international projection, in line with the values promoted by Marca País Uruguay.
