Uruguay XXI and the National Directorate of Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture will launch the sixth edition of the IDA Program.
The initiative, which seeks to boost the export of national literature, is aimed at foreign publishers who want to publish Uruguayan works in a language other than Spanish, as well as national publishers and authors seeking to promote a work or produce an audiobook.
Since 2019, the program whose name honors Uruguayan writer and translator Ida Vitale, promoted more than 60 Uruguayan authors and translated more than 50 national works into 11 languages. In addition, it supported a dozen English translations of excerpts of works for international promotion and favored the production of eight audiobooks.
