At Anuga 2025, Uruguay will present its full export potential and its appeal as a strategic destination for food and beverage investment. Held every two years in Cologne, the fair brings together the most influential players in the global industry and offers an unparalleled platform to connect with international buyers and decision-makers.

Uruguay’s participation is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Uruguay XXI, through their Export Promotion and Investment Attraction divisions. Together, they bring to life a national stand that combines export offerings with the expertise of companies that have strong track records and proven international reach.

This year’s edition will feature Dambo, specialized in the industrialization and export of high genetic purity rice; Frocom, a mill dedicated to the Olimar variety, producing rice renowned for its shine and quality; La Trigueña, with over 38 years of experience producing crackers, cookies, breadsticks, and breadcrumbs; and TechnoBeef Meat Experts, a company that applies precision technology to assess meat quality and promote standardization and value-added programs in the beef industry.

The presence of these companies reflects the diversity of Uruguay’s offerings—from rice, of which more than 90% of production is exported, making the country the leading supplier in Latin America, to beef, recognized worldwide for its premium quality and unique traceability system, to processed foods, an expanding segment that combines tradition, innovation, and adaptability to the most demanding markets. Together, they confirm Uruguay’s position as a reliable partner delivering value-added, sustainable, and differentiated foods.

A Strong and Sustainable Value Proposition

Uruguay is a global leader in sustainable food production and processing. With 93% of its land suitable for agriculture, the country produces food for over 30 million people and has the capacity to supply 20 million more. Rigorous food safety standards, strict health controls, and the adoption of cutting-edge technology have secured the presence of Uruguayan products in the world’s most demanding markets, from Europe to the United States and Japan.

The country combines sustainable production and competitive access to raw materials with a unique business platform—trading, regional distribution centers, and manufacturing—supported by tax incentives, institutional stability, and a firm commitment to renewable energy (99%). This powerful combination makes Uruguay a strategic hub in the Southern Cone, with preferential access to a 400-million-person market and an ideal environment for foreign investment in the food sector.

A Trusted Partner in Food and Business

Uruguay’s production model is built on sustainability, full traceability, and respect for the environment and animal welfare. With an agro-industrial sector that represents 80% of the country’s goods exports, Uruguay is consolidating its position at Anuga 2025 not only as a supplier of safe and nutritious foods, but also as a trusted partner for importing, investing, and forging new international growth opportunities.

Anuga 2025 is a strategic opportunity for Uruguay to showcase what it does best: producing quality food, driving innovation, and offering a reliable business environment.
