VUCE Uruguay integrates Brazil’s digital identity and strengthens regional competitiveness
Uruguay has incorporated Brazil’s national digital identity system into VUCE, enabling Brazilian citizens and companies to access more than 330 online services with their existing GOV.BR credentials

The Single Window for Foreign Trade (VUCE) has taken an important step toward a more integrated regional digital ecosystem by enabling authentication through the Gold-level credentials of Brazil’s GOV.BR platform. From now on, Brazilian users can access VUCE using the same digital identity they rely on in their home country, streamlining interactions with Uruguay’s foreign-trade procedures.
This development aligns with Uruguay’s strategy to deepen its international integration, promote a reliable and efficient business environment, and leverage digital transformation as a driver of investment and export growth. By interoperating with the digital identity system of Uruguay’s largest trading partner, the country enhances the user experience, reduces administrative burdens, and accelerates key processes for exporters and importers.
GOV.BR, developed by Brazil’s Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, is the national platform that consolidates the various authentication methods used across the country. Its integration with ID Uruguay allows users to access VUCE with a high level of security and assurance, equivalent to Uruguay’s advanced digital identity. This enables both individuals and legal representatives of companies to operate seamlessly in Uruguay using a digital identity recognized by both countries.
Cross-border digital identity has significant implications for foreign trade. For Brazilian companies and operators, it eliminates the need to create new accounts or duplicate registrations, reducing administrative times and improving traceability throughout the process. It also facilitates logistical and documentary coordination, while ensuring a secure environment for exchanging sensitive information — a factor that strengthens investor confidence and reinforces Uruguay’s position as a trusted regional partner.
This achievement is the result of coordinated work between technical teams in both countries, with AGESIC supporting the integration between GOV.BR, ID Uruguay, and VUCE services. The milestone underscores Uruguay’s ability to operate under international standards of digital identity and adds to its reputation as a regional leader in digital government and high-quality public services.
VUCE reaffirms its commitment to developing digital solutions that simplify procedures, reduce costs, and contribute to a more dynamic, transparent, and competitive foreign-trade environment, in line with Uruguay XXI’s mission to promote an increasingly integrated and attractive country for investment and business.
How to access VUCE using Brazil’s digital identity
To log in, visit the official VUCE portal (vuce.gub.uy), select “Access VUCE”, and then choose “Log in with ID Uruguay.” From the list of identification options, select GOV.BR and authenticate using a Gold-level credential. On your first visit, you will be asked to complete a short registration form and confirm the terms and conditions sent by email. Once this initial step is complete, you will be able to access the platform directly using your GOV.BR digital identity.
