Pitch Day 2025: A Strategic Showcase for Uruguay’s Video Game Industry
The fifth edition of Pitch Day, organised by Uruguay XXI, brought together national studios and global industry leaders, marking the culmination of a training programme designed to strengthen the professionalisation of the sector

Uruguay’s video game development ecosystem took another step toward internationalisation with Pitch Day 2025, an event that Uruguay XXI has hosted for five consecutive years and which has become a key platform for connecting local studios with top-tier publishers and investors. Held virtually, the session brought together a dozen Uruguayan teams that presented their projects to influential global players seeking new proposals from the region.
Intensive Training: The Prelude to Pitch Day
As every year, the event marked the conclusion of Road to Pitch Day, an intensive preparation programme developed by the Exports Division of Uruguay XXI. Over three working sessions, participants focused on crafting a professional pitch in English, addressing narrative, commercial, visual and technical components.
The training was once again led by Pex Pison, managing director of Lisle Design (United Kingdom) and an established industry figure with experience at Hyper Luminal Games, Pomelo Games and CAVI. His guidance enabled developers to sharpen the clarity of their presentations, strengthen the soundness of their concepts and adapt their commercial strategies to international expectations.
“With Road to Pitch Day, studios prepare pitch decks for their projects to present virtually to an international panel of publishers and investors. Proactively capturing these leads is part of Uruguay XXI’s efforts to identify global counterparts and promote the export of goods and services. Beyond this valuable opportunity, the studios that complete the Road to Pitch Day process—a seven-and-a-half-hour training programme divided into three sessions—finish with highly useful material they can continue to present at future international events,” said Omaira Rodríguez, Creative Industries Specialist at Uruguay XXI.
Projects Presented in the 2025 Edition
Pitch Day 2025 featured a broad array of proposals, ranging from narrative-driven experiences to action adventures and dark fantasy titles. Participating studios included: Shiny Moon Games with Be My Star; Bokensha Studio with VD2: Vitakrosis; Bun Band Games with Down the Dungeon Tree; Earth Genesis Games with Arami: Tierra de Nadie; MIMIR with Porcelain Flesh; Bitware Interactive with Threads of Tomot; RoyalPan with Split Shock; 10 Leaf Studio with 2 MAGES 2 MANUS; Shadow Team with Shadow; Polynerve Games with World Reforged; Hipocampo Game Studio with Down the Darkest Pit; and Team Brunomir with Dungeon Dread.
Each team presented the creative and commercial potential of its project to an international panel that offered valuable feedback and enabled studios to gauge publishers’ interest.
Developers’ Perspectives
Participants highlighted the impact of the experience and the value of the training.
For Ramiro Travieso (RoyalPan), presenting to real publishers proved eye-opening, helping him gain greater clarity on his project and on the importance of a direct, well-structured pitch. He emphasised the energy and honesty of Pex Pison’s mentorship, describing him as a key ally in improving their skills.
Bal Dev (Bokensha Studio) underscored the programme’s importance for emerging studios, noting that it provides essential tools for understanding what works, what to avoid and how to position oneself in a competitive market. He also acknowledged that for more experienced teams, it represents a valuable opportunity to grow.
José Menéndez (Bitware Interactive), a repeat participant, highlighted the continuity and quality of the process, while Ailín Rossi (Blackeye Rose) and Janevo (Earth Genesis Game Studio) valued the clarity of the content and the depth of the learning experience, especially for those at earlier stages of development.
For his part, Fernando Rivero (Shiny Moon Games) noted that the experience allowed him to approach video game development from a business perspective and described the workshop as an essential tool for studios seeking to strengthen their international positioning.
A Sector that Continues to Grow
The 2025 edition of Pitch Day reaffirmed its role as a platform for professionalisation, visibility and international projection for Uruguay’s video game industry. The growing maturity of the projects, the interest shown by the international panel and Uruguay XXI’s sustained commitment solidify the event as a cornerstone for the sector.
Looking ahead, the challenge will be to continue expanding opportunities, strengthening training initiatives and further positioning Uruguay as a regional benchmark in video game development and related creative services.
