Uruguay participated in AgroActiva 2026, one of the region’s leading agro-industrial trade shows, held in Armstrong, Santa Fe Province, Argentina. The Uruguayan delegation, organized by the Uruguayan Chamber of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (CUFMA) with support from Uruguay XXI and the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mining (MIEM), showcased the innovation, technological capabilities, and export potential of Uruguay’s agricultural machinery industry to thousands of visitors and key industry stakeholders.
The delegation included the companies Algeris (Río Negro), Mary (Soriano), MF Metalúrgica (Colonia), IBG Maquinaria Agrícola (Rocha), Dilogic (Rocha), and El Corral Agrometalúrgica (Florida), which exhibited equipment designed and manufactured in Uruguay. Representing Uruguay XXI was Claudia Peisino, Project Manager in the Competitive Intelligence Department, who supported the mission’s institutional and commercial agenda.
Guided by AgroActiva 2026’s theme, *“A Showcase of Who We Are,”* Uruguay’s participation highlighted the national industry’s ability to develop solutions tailored to producers’ needs, combining innovation, quality, and specialized technical support. The sector, which includes more than 20 companies affiliated with CUFMA, currently manufactures over 400 implements for activities such as agriculture, livestock, dairy farming, forestry, horticulture, and seed production.
The trade show served as a strategic platform for strengthening the regional presence of Uruguayan agricultural machinery, generating new business opportunities, and deepening ties with companies, producers, and institutions across Argentina and the wider Latin American agribusiness sector. The event also featured international business matchmaking sessions with buyers from more than 20 countries, as well as specialized conferences on biotechnology, precision agriculture, climate change, and smart livestock farming.
The 2026 edition built on an initiative launched the previous year, when Uruguay participated institutionally in AgroActiva for the first time. That experience produced encouraging results for participating companies, including completed sales and new business opportunities in Argentina. One of the most notable cases was MF Metalúrgica, whose hydraulic post driver attracted strong interest from Argentine producers and companies, paving the way for the firm’s first technology export.
This year’s participation once again delivered tangible results for the industry, including the sale of machinery manufactured in Uruguay. These outcomes reflect growing regional interest in solutions developed by Uruguayan companies and underscore the sector’s potential to expand further into neighboring markets.
The Uruguayan agricultural machinery industry has steadily strengthened its international presence thanks to its adaptability and the quality of its products. Today, equipment and implements manufactured in Uruguay are sold in markets including Brazil, Paraguay, Panama, and Ecuador. During the first few months of 2026, the sector’s exports reached US$470,000, with Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina ranking as the main destinations.
Participation in AgroActiva represents a strategic opportunity to continue positioning Uruguayan technology in regional markets, support the internationalization of local companies, and strengthen a sector that turns innovation, expertise, and manufacturing capabilities into export opportunities and economic growth.
