Hugo Fattoruso

Composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Named illustrious citizen of Montevideo and Ambassador of Ibero-American Culture by the IMM.

He is a composer, arranger, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, being fundamental his contribution to Uruguayan music.

He has developed a great solo career, as well as participated in different musical bands: Los Shakers, Opa, Grupo del Cuareim, Los Pusilánimes, Trío Fattoruso, among others.

For several years he played and collaborated with international artists such as Chico Buarque from Holland, Milton Nascimento, Djavan, Fafá de Belém, Miucha, María Betanha, Arismar do Espirito Santo, Joao Bosco, Naná Vasconcelos, Fito Páez, Luis Salinas, Jaime Roos, Larbanois-Carrero, No Te Va Gustar, among others.

He has recorded more than 90 albums (vinyls, cassettes, cds, dvds) with groups, soloists, in duo, trio, etc. and also participated as a guest in several recordings in his trips abroad.

In 2004, together with his brother Osvaldo, he was awarded for his career in the Graffiti Awards and named illustrious citizens of Montevideo in 2009 by the IMM.

In 2013, he was elected as Ambassador of Ibero-American Culture, also by the IMM.

In 2019 he received the Latin Grammy Award for Musical Excellence for his career and contribution to musical culture.
