Influenced by candombe (of Afro-Uruguayan origin), tango and milonga, music that represents the great mix of cultures that took place in the region, Juan integrates these sounds in a unique way and has defined new forms that rescue gestures and integrate these musical traditions.

The mixture of past and present, of tradition and contemporaneity in his production has given a timeless characteristic to his music that connects with the cultural richness of Latin America and projects it to a search for new styles and forms of his own, with identity and historical sense.
