Leonor Courtoisie, Mercedes Rosende, Marosa Di Giorgio, and Felipe Polleri are some of the authors who will be able to translate their works thanks to the support of the 2023 edition of the IDA Program, coordinated by the National Directorate of Culture and the investment, export, and country brand promotion agency, Uruguay XXI.

The IDA program supports translating Uruguayan literary works to boost the export of Uruguayan literature. It is aimed at foreign publishers who wish to publish Uruguayan works in a language other than Spanish and at Uruguayan publishers and authors who want to promote a work or produce an audiobook.

In its fifth edition, it supported the internationalization of eleven Uruguayan literary works into languages such as French, Italian, Portuguese, and Serbian, in addition to the production of an audiobook in Spanish.

The program was born in 2019 and, since then, has promoted more than 50 Uruguayan authors and translated more than 50 national works into 11 languages. In addition, it supported the translation into English of passages from books for their international promotion and produced seven audiobooks.
